The USGS National Map is making a small change to its dynamic Contour Overlay service URL starting Friday, March 1, 2019. The new Contour service URL will be https://carto.nationalmap.gov/arcgis/rest/services/contours/MapServer. The ā€˜cā€™ in contours is now a small letter rather than a capital letter. This change maintains consistency in the naming pattern across our overlay services and helps facilitate the automation in loading our data updates. There are no changes to the cartography of the product, only the URL.

For additional information please contact The National Map Service Desk, United States Geological Survey at tnm_help@usgs.gov.

Thank you to everyone who submitted and voted for our new logos.  We had some great submissions and great participation for the final vote with one logo receiving an overwhelming majority of votes.  You will see lots of updates over the next few months as we re-brand with our new logo and name.
